Washington, DC

Washington, DC is our nation's capitol. Not only are the most important government buildings here, but also a wide variety of entertainment and attractions. Make sure you have a plan when you visit the city for the day. It is so busy and there is so much to do that it can be very overwhelming to visit without any idea of what you would like to see or do.

Below is a guide we put together to help you navigate through DC. All the below recommendations are a lot of fun and can be done during the day and night. Just be careful when taking the Metro, it can be confusing for new users. Go with a friend and look up the map before you get on so you are more familiar with the stops.

Suggestions
  • DC traffic is always terrible so avoid it at all costs. Take the Metro in instead. The closest stop near Odenton is New Carrollton. It's about a 15 minute drive and also is a Greyhound and Amtrak stop.
  • For nightlife with a familiar college atmosphere, check out any of the bars and resturants near Georgetown such as Rhinos and Garret's.
  • Arlington and Alexandria are cities right next to DC that offer more great nightlife. It takes a little longer to get there on the Metro, but it is worth it.
